‘Idol’ judges use save

(EW.com) — What a crapfest! The judges DID end up using their save this week.

Before Jessica Sanchez could make it through a single verse of “Nobody’s Supposed to be Here,” tangerine dream Jennifer Lopez had stormed the stage. “Gimme that mic!” she snapped. “Shall we dance?” she continued. “Why didn’t all you b****** watch ¡Q’Viva!?”

Randy Jackson stepped in. “We are saving Jessica without any doubt,” he announced. “This girl is one of the best singers in America. Are you kidding me? Everybody please vote for the best.”

“Are you kidding me?” said the sparkly tongue-sticking-out emoticon pin on Randy’s lapel. “Let the people do what they want. <3 <3 <3.”

Ugh, it was all so staged! To make matters worse, we’d already been warned that this charade was about to happen.

“We’re gonna use our card tonight, especially with an outcome like this,” Steven Tyler had assured Ryan once the shocking bottom three — Jessica, Joshua Ledet, and Elise Testone — had been announced. Could have used a spoiler alert there Steven! That tinkling sound you hear behind you is bits of evil gargoyle overlord Nigel Lythgoe’s granite teeth crumbling to the floor from over-clenching. Just beautiful.

Anyway, the judges saved Jessica. Not surprising. Ryan Seacrest carried on his annual tradition of separating the top and bottom three contestants and then making the only officially “safe” person — Skylar Laine — “pick the group you think you belong with.” Skylar promptly marched over to the couches and refused, but Ryan’s meaty grip got her in the end. Turned out Hollie Cavanagh, Phillip Phillips, and Colton Dixon were safe this week.

Jimmy Iovine had predicted Hollie, Phillip, and Elise for the bottom three. After Joshua and Jessica landed there instead, Jimmy growled, “I’m gonna get a new flat-screen.” So you can…see everyone better? Great plan. Best wishes to Sebastian the crab on his continued wealth.

James Durbin — that mythical creature with the tail from season 10 — returned with blonde ambition to scream “Higher Than Heaven,” off his debut album Memories of a Broken Disaster. I thought I was high myself when they kept randomly zooming in on his drummer’s feet. This time the cloth dangling from the Durbinator’s butt was white, possibly as a metaphor for the diapers he can now afford to purchase for his baby. Good looking out!

I kept worrying that Jennifer Hudson‘s “before weight” hologram from the Weight Watchers commercials would creep into the frame and try to duet with her on “Think Like a Man,” but luckily Ne-Yo did instead. Does anyone not love Ne-Yo? I kept obsessing over this during their performance filled with push-and-pull flirting and plenty of sass appeal. I think he is universally adored. I even ended up marveling that the “design” on his white t-shirt was just a big black rectangle. That’s genius, I thought, genuinely. Ne-Yo’s gotta have it, Ryan!

Hopefully no one was home or visiting or peering at you through a hidden camera as you watched the Top 7′s “Raise Your Glass” abomination. I actually apologized to my recapping buddy Tanner out of secondhand embarrassment. Two visual moments did save these dirty little freaks from complete failure, though: Phillip gently caressing Colton’s hair-animal in his lap (?!) and a final pose featuring an off-balance Ryan Seacrest clutching a Coke cup (!!). Cheers, queers.

Can you believe Jessica received the lowest amount of votes? Was this J. Lo’s best acting performance since “Out of Sight”? Was Colton Dixon totally channeling Emily Thorne as he cautiously opened that wooden box from a prospective prom date? Separate your thoughts into two groups and pick a side in the comments!

‘The Office’ falls to ratings low

Promotional art from Promotional art from “The Office.”“The Office” fell to a series low while facing a repeat of “The Big Bang Theory”"The Big Bang Theory”: 10.3 million viewers, 3.0 adult demo rating”The Office”: 4.4 million viewers, 2.1 adult demo rating

(EW.com) — On the heels of reports that NBC is considering a creative restart on “The Office,” comes last night’s ratings: The comedy veteran fell to a series low while facing a repeat of CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” in the 9 p.m. hour.

What’s interesting is CBS trying out “Big Bang” in this slot for the first time on a non-holiday (and a “2 Broke Girls” repeat at 9:30 p.m.). After CBS launched its 8 p.m. comedy hour beachhead on Thursdays, many wondered if it was Phase 1 in a master plan to have a two-hour comedy block on TV’s most lucrative night for advertising.

If Thursday is any indication, there’s potential should CBS want to shake things up in the fall: “The Big Bang Theory” repeat (10.3 million viewers, 3.0 adult demo rating) won its time slot, beating fellow comedy “The Office” (4.4 million, 2.1), which fell 13 percent from its last original four weeks ago. “The Big Bang Theory” 9 p.m. repeat also performed stronger than its 8 p.m. repeat (2.8 in the demo), which you would expect given the higher audience levels in the hour. CBS’ repeat of “2 Broke Girls” (7.3 million, 2.1) also beat the finale of NBC’s “Up All Night” (3.2 million, 1.5).

Another point of interest last night: Week 2 of ABC’s “Scandal” (7.5 million, 2.1) went up slightly in the ratings, though with “Grey’s Anatomy “(8.8 million, 2.9) higher and slightly overrunning into 10 p.m., it’s too soon to say if this means the audience is a real sign of an uptrend. “Missing” (1.4) dropped a tenth.

Oh, and lest I forget, there was also last night’s highest-rated show: Fox’s “American Idol” (15.3 million, 4.2) climbed 8 percent to win the night. “Touch” (8.2 million, 2.3) was steady.

(CNN) — Bee Gees star Robin Gibb is in a coma and has pneumonia, the latest turn in health issues that include a recent battle with colon and liver cancer, his representative confirmed Saturday.

Doctors believe that Gibb, 62, has a secondary tumor, representative Doug Wright said, confirming a news account in The Sun in the United Kingdom. Gibb had emergency surgery in 2010 for a blocked bowel and then had more surgery for a twisted bowel, Wright confirmed.

His brother Maurice died in 2003 of a twisted bowel.

Brother Andy died at age 30 from a heart infection.

The Brothers Gibb — calling themselves the Bee Gees — soared to renown as one of the most successful British groups after the 1977 film “Saturday Night Fever” starring John Travolta was built around the group’s disco songs.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, the Bee Gees have sold more than 200 million albums, and their soundtrack album to “Saturday Night Fever” was the top-selling album until Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” claimed that distinction in the 1980s.

CNN’s Anisa Husain contributed to this report.

Review: ‘Cabin in the Woods’

A A “Cabin in the Woods” offers a new twist on the old genre of horror films.“Cabin in the Woods’” is directed by Drew Goddard and co-written by Joss WhedonThe movie offers quite a few twists and turns on the horror genreCritic: The film doesn’t just keep us on our toes, it chops them off

(CNN) — If you go down to the “Woods” today, you’re sure of a big surprise — and if anyone tries to spoil it, my advice would be to shut them up quick.

Believe me, you don’t want to know. But this is a movie people are going to need to talk about, so if you’re at all invested in horror movies — what they are, what they’re for, what they can be — you best see this one quick, and steer clear of Tumblr until you have.

What can I tell you without saying too much?

For starters, you have to know that this is the first feature directed by Drew Goddard, a writer from the “Buffy,” “Angel,” “Lost” school, based on a screenplay he co-wrote with the considerably famous “Buffy”, “Firefly”, “Angel” creator Joss Whedon. Fans of those shows won’t be disappointed by these horror hipsters’ acidic, postmodern designs on one of the movie industry’s hoariest, least respected staples. Whedon also wrote “Toy Story” of course — which may be why the wild, nutso finale seems to owe a debt to another Pixar movie … but let’s not go there.

The outline is as crude as the title suggests: Hollywood has been telling us to be afraid of the backwoods at least since “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and “Deliverance” (before that, it was the old dark manse on the hill). By now the homespun log cabin is more likely to evoke the evil undead than Honest Abe. But just as the clever poster image puts its own twist on the familiar picture, transforming the house into a kind of spinning Rubik’s Cube, Goddard’s movie quickly puts its own distinctive kink on horror clichés.

By quickly, I mean from the very first scene, which wittily undercuts the portentous opening music and sets up the movie’s first puzzle: how do the casually smug, cynical lab-coated technicians played by Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins relate to the five bright, sexy college kids we see taking off for a cousin’s countryside retreat? You could probably figure it out: there are only so many permutations available after all. But then again, you would probably be wrong. “The Cabin in the Woods” doesn’t just keep us on our toes, it chops them off at the knee with a rusty scythe.

How spoiler culture (mostly) spared ‘The Cabin in the Woods’

Goddard winks at horror’s soiled conventions, but doesn’t denigrate his characters by resorting to camp (well, except perhaps in the scary fundamentalist redneck the kids encounter when they try to buy gas). One of the questions he wants to explore is how much free will we want to see in a human sacrifice. Or put it another way: If you give a puppet enough rope, will he hang himself?

Thus, Kristen Connolly’s sympathetic Dana — not quite a virgin, but clearly the designated “good girl” — is something more than just the sum of her body parts (even if she is upstaged by a dismembered arm in one scene), and Fran Kranz’s witty pot-head conspiracy theorist is such an engaging personality the movie risks deflating without him. Yes, they’re archetypes, but they’re not stereotypes — the dialogue is always a notch or three smarter and snappier than you’d expect.

Maybe — if we’re being picky — this is all too self-consciously clever to be truly scary on the visceral, soul-gnawing level of the most unforgettable horror films. But there’s no question that this is one of the most entertaining and invigorating shockers in recent years. It’s also one of the best movies of 2012 so far, in any genre.

(Rolling Stone) — Justin Bieber has revealed that his upcoming album “Believe,” his third, will feature a songwriting collaboration with Taylor Swift.

The U.K.’s Capital FM Radio posted audio yesterday from a recent conversation with Bieber on the program Vodafone Big Top 40 in which Bieber announced the country-pop singer-songwriter will join Believe’s all-star guest list.

When asked whether the Swift collaboration would have a country flavor, Bieber replied in the affirmative and explained that “Believe” will reflect a diverse range of styles.

“It doesn’t stay in a box,” he explained. “Everything is so different and that’s why I’m so happy with this album.”

Other “Believe” guests include Drake, Kanye West, Timbaland and Diplo. On Monday, Bieber announced on Twitter that the album will also include a duet with Usher. “Believe” is expected to come out this summer.

Writer:Gibson spewed anti-Semitism

Mel Gibson Mel Gibson “kept raging” about his ex-girlfriend, according to Joe Eszterhas’ letter, published by thewrap.com.NEW: Allegations “extremely serious and must be investigated,” Grigorieva spokesman saysJoe Eszterhas says Mel Gibson spews “looney, rancid” anti-SemitismGibson denies the allegations, said Eszterhas is upset over his script being rejectedEszterhas says his son taped one of Gibson’s rantsEditor’s note: This story contains offensive language

(CNN) — Mel Gibson frequently spews “looney, rancid” anti-Semitism, has talked about killing his former girlfriend, and is prone to hate-filled diatribes slamming everyone from John Lennon to Walter Cronkite, according to a screenwriter who has been working with him.

Joe Eszterhas, who wrote a screenplay about the Jewish hero Judah Maccabee for Gibson, recounts numerous alleged incidents in detail in a nine-page letter to Gibson published by the website thewrap.com.

In a letter replying to Eszterhas, Gibson denies the allegations, saying most of the claims are fabricated.

Gibson’s letter says Eszterhas “only had a problem with me after Warner Brothers rejected your (Eszterhas’) script.”

Gibson, in his five-paragraph response, says he won’t respond “line by line,” and that the decision not to proceed with Eszterhas “was based on the quality of your script, not on any other factor.”

Gibson’s bitter child custody battle with former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva ended last year with a court settlement, but not before the actor entered a “no contest” plea to a misdemeanor battery charge relating to a 2010 incident involving Grigorieva.

The plea deal put Gibson on unsupervised probation for three years.

Grigorieva’s spokesman told CNN Thursday that if the Eszterhas “is accurate and credible, the allegations are extremely serious and must be investigated immediately by the authorities.”

“But it will be up to the authorities and Ms. Grigorieva’s attorneys to react to this revelation,” Steve Jaffe said. He confirmed she has “been in touch” with her lawyers about the matter.

Warner Bros. has put the controversial Maccabees project on hold, the company said. “We are analyzing what to do with the project,” said spokesman Paul McGuire. Like CNN, Warner Bros. is part of Time Warner.

Joe Eszterhas, shown in 2005, insists he worked diligently on his script for a film about Judah Maccabee. Joe Eszterhas, shown in 2005, insists he worked diligently on his script for a film about Judah Maccabee.Eszterhas writes in his letter, “I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason you won’t make ‘The Maccabees’ is the ugliest possible one. You hate Jews.” He recounts Gibson repeatedly using derogatory epithets for Jewish people.

Allegations of anti-Semitism are nothing new for Gibson. Concerns that arose among some Jewish groups over his handling of the story of Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ” in 2004 were replaced by widespread condemnations two years later when Gibson was arrested on a drunk driving charge. According to a police report, he asked the arresting officer if he was Jewish and said, “F***ing Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”

Gibson later apologized without acknowledging specific remarks.

Eszterhas is a veteran of the industry, having penned such titles as “Basic Instinct” and “Showgirls.”

In his letter, he writes that he hoped Gibson viewed the Maccabees project “as a kind of penance/apologia” — a claim Gibson denies in his response.

Eszterhas says that soon after he began working with Gibson on it, he became “increasingly worried that I’d made a grave mistake by hooking up with you.”

It was not immediately clear how thewrap.com obtained Eszterhas’ letter.

In discussing Jewish people, Gibson regularly used the terms “Hebes,” “oven-dodgers,” and “Jew-boys,” Eszterhas alleges. “You said most ‘gatekeepers’ of American companies were ‘Hebes’ who ‘controlled their bosses.’”

“You said the Holocaust was ‘mostly a lot of horsesh*t,’” the letter says, adding that Gibson made various false accusations, including that the Torah refers to sacrificing Christian babies.

Gibson called Pope John Paul II “the anti-Christ” and “the devil,” the screenwriter alleges.

“You kept raging about your ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva,” mother of their young daughter Luci, the letter alleges, saying Gibson referred to her with sexist epithets. “You acted out for me the scene where you hit her. But you said you’d ‘just slapped her a little bit.’”

Eszterhas claims in the letter Gibson explicitly said, “‘I’m going to kill her! I’m going to have her killed!’”

Addressing Gibson, he says in the letter, “You said you’d become friends with two FBI agents (or former FBI agents) and they were going to help you to kill her.”

Eszterhas recounts times that he, his wife, and his 15-year-old son felt endangered in Gibson’s presence.

The teen taped one of Gibson’s outbursts on his iPod, Eszterhas says.

Gibson once told the 15-year-old that he wanted to perform a sex act on Grigorieva and “stab her to death while I’m doing it,” Eszterhas alleges.

“How can you share a loop from the pornographic snuff film which obviously plays in your head … with a child?” the letter asks.

The bitter battle between Gibson and Grigorieva reached a financial and custody settlement last year. Gibson pleaded no contest to a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery.

Racist and sexist rants against her by Gibson were recorded and leaked to radaronline.com.

Eszterhas also quotes Gibson as saying John Lennon “deserved to be shot,” and that he hated Walter Cronkite, who appealed “to stupid people.”

At one point, Gibson wrote Eszterhas a note apologizing for one of his outbursts, saying, “I have a vast reservoir of rage-filled puss that from time to time spills out” and that “the devil seems to afflict me thru anger and my tongue,” Eszterhas says.

In his response letter, Gibson says “the great majority of the facts as well as the statements and actions attributed to me in your letter are utter fabrications. I would have thought that a man of principle, as you purport to be, would have withdrawn from the project regardless of the money if you truly believed me to be the person you describe in your letter.”

“I will acknowledge like most creative people I am passionate and intense,” Gibson adds.

He said he was frustrated at Eszterhas’ failure to produce a script in timely fashion.

“I did react more strongly than I should have. I promptly sent you a written apology, the colorful words of which you apparently now find offensive. Let me now clearly apologize to you and your family in the simplest of terms,” he says in the letter.

Eszterhas insists he was diligent and produced a script that received high praise.

But Gibson writes, “In 25 years of script development I have never seen a more substandard first draft or a more significant waste of time.”

Eszterhas could not be reached immediately on Thursday.

When plans were announced last year for Gibson to helm a movie about the Maccabees, Jewish leaders assailed the idea.

“I think it’s, quite frankly, preposterous,” Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles told CNN in September. “Judah Maccabee is one of the greatest heroes in Jewish history. Mel Gibson is an anti-Semite. … I don’t know what Warner Bros. was thinking.”

Maccabee was a Judean priest who commanded the resistance to Greek forces around 165 B.C. Hanukkah celebrates the story of the Maccabees.

“Casting him as a director or star of Judah Maccabee is like casting Bernie Madoff to be the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission,” Hier said at the time.

A representative for Gibson, who asked not to be identified at the time, said, “It’s an amazing story that should be told cinematically” and that there were no plans for Gibson to act in the film, although he might direct.

In his letter, Eszterhas says he believes Gibson is in need of medication and “extensive psychiatric counseling.”

“You live in extreme isolation from the real world,” Eszterhas wrote. “You don’t read newspapers or magazines, you never have the TV on except to watch movies — often your own. You rarely go out. Even the church where you worship, built at your own personal expense, is attended only by family and friends. The priest there is your hire and works for you, not God. You are truly extraordinarily and uniquely self-absorbed in a town where self-absorption is common.

Noting that “there are as many guns around your house as crucifixes,” Eszterhas wrote, “I worry for you and those around you.”

CNN’s Alan Duke in Los Angeles contributed to this report.

Keith Urban Joins Grand Ole Opry

Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winner Keith Urban was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry last night by Opry member Vince Gill and fellow members Rascal Flatts, Diamond Rio and Oak Ridge Boys during “All For The Hall” benefit at Bridgestone Arena. New Zealand-born and Australian-raised Urban will be the first artist from outside North America to become an Opry member.

Urban will formally be inducted into the Opry on Saturday, April 21 live on the premiere of “NOTEWORTHY at the Opry” on GAC at 8pm Central time. The 16-episode series will feature musical performances and personal stories from the top acts in country music, plus interviews with other celebrities about the artists and music featured in each episode.

Near the end of last night’s show, Gill called Rascal Flatts out to the stage to bring a gift for Urban. As he opened a large black duffel bag revealing the Opry’s signature microphone stand, Gill said, “We would like to invite Keith Urban to be the next member of the Grand Ole Opry!”

Urban covered his face in surprise and said,

“I don’t know what to say – but first, YES! Thank you very much to everyone at the Grand Ole Opry who made this possible. I’m shocked. How beautiful for this to happen tonight of all nights.”

“I will always remember the first time I played the Opry. Seeing this stand and standing in the circle was an extraordinary surreal moment. So this right here is just a whole other stratosphere! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!” -Urban

Craig Morgan This Ole Boy Album Review

I think this album as a whole is great! It is true to the Craig Morgan we know, serious when need be, but somebody you want to cut-up with and take on a camping trip!

The first single and title track, “This Ole Boy” is such a fun-loving song that puts a smile on my face each time I hear it! “More Trucks Than Cars” is another upbeat track that really puts you in a small town each time it is played!

Whole World Needs A Kitchen” kind of takes me back to his “That’s What I Love About Sunday” days. It’s got a bit of a mellow/easy-going/powerful thing happening. You know what I mean…not something you necessarily karaoke to, but you would definitely belt in your car!

There is so much to say about “Country Boys Like Me,” but put quite simply, I LOVE IT! When I said that this album is great, I meant it! Each song tells a story, and it’s a story that is very believable! Morgan co-writing 7 out of the 12 tracks probably has a lot to do with it!

Being Alive and Livin’” is another song that really sticks out to me. It’s all about that cliche, live life to the fullest! Hell, each time I hear it I think I could go skydiving or something. Two minutes later I realize I’m afraid of heights and I hate the feeling of falling, but if a song can give you that kind of courage you know it’s a good one! “Better Stories” is priceless! It makes me laugh and think of some of my own stories and memories I’ve made throughout the years!

I Didn’t Drink” tells a sad story, but putting it on the album was a great move. Country music is known for telling it like it is!

This album has everything from love songs (“Love Loves A Long Night,” “Fish Weren’t Bitin’” and “Summer Moon“) to humorous ones you will be singing with your best friends (“Show Me Your Tattoo” and “Corn Star“). When I listen to any track, I know I am getting who Morgan really is and there is definitely something to be appreciated about that.

This record was released February 28 from his new label, Black River Entertainment, and is the first music he has released in nearly three years! Well…it was well worth the wait!

Why we’re still watching awards shows

Awards shows are among the few glamorous Hollywood events that are open to the public, said TV critic Mary McNamara.Awards shows are among the few glamorous Hollywood events that are open to the public, said TV critic Mary McNamara.About 16.8 million people tuned into the Golden Globes on SundayThe media was notably underwhelmed by the awards showSocial media has amplified viewers’ desires to watch awards shows live

(CNN) — For an awards show that’s not the Oscars, the 2012 Golden Globes attracted a good amount of attention.

About 16.8 million people — a slight dip from last year’s 17 million viewers — tuned in to the event that elicited countless trending topics on Twitter, status updates on Facebook, inches in newspapers and articles online.

Yes, it’s that time of year again when starlets show off their best assets in designer gowns, tiny statues are handed out and the world gets to critique who worked the red carpet. Awards season officially kicked off on television last Sunday night with the Golden Globes and the media was notably underwhelmed by the soiree while viewers seemed split on host Ricky Gervais’ toned-down performance.

So why not just change the channel?

Awards shows are among the few glamorous Hollywood events that are open to the public, said Mary McNamara, a TV critic at the Los Angeles Times.

“When even reality TV is scripted, there’s something refreshing about seeing something that could be unpredictable,” said Daniel Manu, the site director of Television Without Pity. “You don’t know what (the winners) will say when they get up there. You might see a truly human moment from people who are usually … on point.”

Nobody expected lead actress in a drama winner Meryl Streep to curse upon realizing she left her glasses at her seat at Sunday’s Globes. And nobody knew how presenters Rob Lowe and Julianne Moore would recover when the teleprompter malfunctioned (by joking about doing a cold read in front of Steven Spielberg.)

“Someone is going to make a mistake,” McNamara said. “Somebody’s dress is going to be terrible. It’s a wonderful opportunity to vent about Hollywood and celebrity culture while also participating in it.”

And social media has only amplified our will to participate.

“People have been having Oscar parties for years,” Manu said. “Sitting around someone’s living room and making jokes.”

It’s just that nobody could hear them, he said. Enter Twitter.

“Without the Internet, the Golden Globes wouldn’t be fun to watch,” Manu said. “Fans and critics can instantly respond on Twitter and comment back to these shows. In a way, awards shows are more fun now, regardless of the host and nominees. Technology allows us to respond immediately. And snark immediately.”

The social media aspect also pressures viewers to watch the shows live. Nobody wants to be the guy tweeting about Ricky Gervais’ monologue halfway through the Golden Globes, Manu said.

“For social media, the Oscars and the Golden Globes, certainly, are giant piñatas,” McNamara said. “We whack away and send mean tweets and are hilariously funny and wicked.”

Pete Cashmore, founder and CEO of Mashable, wrote in a column for CNN that he actually watched the recent Globes live because of social media. “I didn’t plan to watch the Globes, but as Twitter and Facebook lit up with buzz, I couldn’t help but be drawn in,” he wrote.

Even people who approach awards shows with the “I would never watch” attitude are still somehow in the know, McNamara said. Maybe they didn’t watch it live, or they watched parts on YouTube after the fact. Either way, they’re aware of what happened.

“TV is a true democracy,” she said. “If you want (an awards show) to go away, don’t watch it. If the ratings fall, it won’t be on TV. … Nothing is easier to get rid of than a TV show.”

Dierks Bentley Home Album Review

Dierks Bentley’s previous album, Up On The Ridge, was such a breath of fresh air! I really enjoyed the bluegrass compilation and loved the fact that Bentley did what HE wanted to do. But…the first time I heard “Am I The Only One,” I was immediately rushed to years back when I first discovered the curly headed guy on my TV singing “How Am I Doin’?” At that moment I knew we were going to get an awesome album from him very soon.

I was right! The second single and title track, “Home,” was released and was on the opposite side of the tracks from “Am I The Only One,” but they were both going in the same direction!

The best way I can describe this album as a whole is probably something like this…I see myself with a few of my favorite people, on a cool afternoon, sitting around a fire, with a cup in my hand, not talking, but having the best time ever. It just makes me happy!

I don’t know about everyone else, but I don’t have to be jumping up and down raging to a song just because it is fast paced. Don’t get me wrong, I do that too, but it is also nice to sit back, listen, appreciate and smile!

It is hard for me to pick a favorite song from this album…number one because they are all pretty great and number two because I like them all for different reasons. “Gonna Die Young” is fun and makes me want to do something crazy, it kind of has the same effect “What Was I Thinkin’” had on me. “Tip It On Back” is very easy going and I can’t help but sing along.

The Woods” has a great beat to it, it is very descriptive and it takes me back. Everyone has that place that is almost sacred to them, it holds a lot of memories and no matter what happens you can always go back there!

When You Gonna Come Around,” featuring Karen FairChild, is the type of song you wish was written about you (don’t lie, you have all thought it a time or two). “Thinking Of You” is just so sweet! I encourage you to listen to the entire song from start to finish. Yes, it is seven minutes, but I promise the end will have you grinning from ear to ear.

So there, I told you what I thought…it’s GOLD! I’d love to know what y’all think, so everyone should listen as soon as you get the chance!
